Viet Potentials Academy Overview
Viet Potentials Academy (VPA) is a unit under the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the national organization representing the Vietnamese business community, entrepreneurs, and business associations nationwide.
VPA was originally established on 19 December 2008 as the Viet Potentials Communication Center under Decision No. 3916/PTM-TCCB issued by the President of VCCI. Under this decision, The World of Photography Magazine and Vietnam Potentials Magazine were placed under the management of the Viet Potentials Communication Center.
Main Activities Since Establishment
The Center’s principal activities have included:
- Publishing: Producing publications to support VCCI’s communication and information activities, while providing publications that meet the development needs of the Vietnamese business community. The Center has published Thế giới Ảnh and Vietnam Potentials Magazine on a monthly basis.
- Event Organization: Organizing various events, including the annual Vietnam Today Photography Competition, which has become one of the Center’s flagship activities.
On 30 September 2025, the Standing Committee of VCCI issued Decision No. 1878/LĐTM-BTT, officially renaming the Viet Potentials Communication Center as the Viet Potentials Academy (VPA) and approving its new Charter on Organization and Operation.
Misson
VPA’s mission is to educate, develop, and elevate Vietnam’s business leaders to the standards and competencies of leaders in developed, high-income economies, enabling them to achieve regional and international standing while embodying the values and standards of Vietnamese business culture.
Vision
VPA aspires to become an internationally accredited executive education institution serving Vietnam’s business community, contributing to stronger enterprises and a more prosperous nation.
Functions
VPA is entrusted with the following functions:
- Conduct research and advise the VCCI Standing Committee and Executive Board on recommendations to the Party and the Government regarding policies and mechanisms for developing, training, and maximizing the human resource potential of Vietnamese enterprises in support of national development objectives.
- Advise the VCCI Standing Committee in directing, managing, and coordinating training activities throughout the VCCI system to develop senior business leaders and managers while enhancing human resource development within Vietnamese enterprises.
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive and specialized strategies and programs for high-quality human resource development, including planning, coordinating, and integrating executive education, strategic consulting, policy research, strategic communications, and high-level forums and events to strengthen enterprises’ competitiveness and promote sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
VPA is responsible for:
- Implementing research activities and providing policy recommendations to the VCCI Standing Committee and Executive Board for submission to the Party and the Government on mechanisms and policies related to training, capacity building, and human resource development for Vietnamese enterprises.
- Assisting the VCCI Standing Committee in leading, directing, managing, and organizing training activities across the VCCI system to cultivate executive and managerial talent and enhance workforce development in Vietnamese enterprises.
- Leading the research, design, and proposal of strategies, policies, programs, and flagship projects for high-quality human resource development, with particular emphasis on executive education and advanced leadership development for business executives and managers, in accordance with the direction of the VCCI Standing Committee.
- Coordinating with relevant organizations within and outside VCCI to organize specialized executive training programs, strategic forums, business clubs, conferences, seminars, high-level policy dialogues, and networking activities that support leadership development and human capital advancement for Vietnamese enterprises.
- Developing training curricula and collaborating in the delivery of specialized courses and workshops on understanding and implementing government policies and legislation, thereby enhancing regulatory compliance and organizational adaptability for entrepreneurs and enterprises.
- Conducting specialized research and field studies on emerging trends and models in human resource development, as well as the evolving roles and competencies required of business leaders, while providing tailored consulting services on human capital strategy and talent management for Vietnamese enterprises.
- Mobilizing domestic and international funding and implementing projects and development programs sponsored by organizations at home and abroad to support human resource development for Vietnamese enterprises.
